Well... Wowee wow!! It's been nearly two months since I've typed anything into ye olde blog... And there's really nothing new or exciting to add. Well, that's not really true!! I just got back in from a whirlwind tour of the United States!
In the past two weeks, I have successfully stayed in every time zone in the continental US for at least the equivalent of one business day or more. Don't believe me...? Well, here we go!
07/17/2003 - Started in Seattle, WA
07/17/2003 - Two hours in Chicago, IL
07/17/2003 - One hour in Birmingham, AL
07/17/2003 - New Orleans, LA (Hey, cutie... Wanna earn some beads?)
07/20/2003 - Too many hours in Phoenix, AZ (Hangovers suck!)
07/20/2003 - Back to Seattle, WA
07/21/2003 - Off to Irvine, CA
07/23/2003 - Back to Seattle, WA (Damn plane was delayed...)
07/23/2003 - Off to New York, NY (Ran from one end of Sea-Tac International Airport to the other...)
07/27/2003 - Hehehehe...
Well, on 07/27/2003, I began my trip back home to Seattle. Let's just say that it was an entertaining adventure! You see, I suffer from travel anxiety enough as it is... And I hopped a shuttle to get to JFK in New York from Manhattan. The driver said it was an hour and I'm thinking to myself, "Cool. I'll get there in plenty of time!" Hehehe... Yeah, right!! Off we go on a wild and wacky adventure throughout the area only to pull up to Grand Central and told to get off his bus because we have to transfer to another bus!! No worries. Go buy my ticket and try to get on the bus. No luck, it's sold out but there's another bus coming in 10 minutes. (By the way, the Airport Shuttle service sucks and they have a bunch of idiots working for them! Take the Blue Line shuttle service or hire a cab if you're ever in my position...) So here I am, 2 hours to go and I KNOW that the trip to the airport is a good hour because of traffic. Tick tock tick tock... I roll on up to the airport and try to check in... No go because it's now less than 45 minutes until the plane departs (and don't even try explaining your situation to the TAS folks because they just don't care!).
Oy vey... Now I'm worried because I may very well be stuck in NYC and I was running out of time and patience. Fortunately, my fury was channeled clearly to the shuttle service and not to the very nice and accommodating ticket agents at American Airlines (thanks, guys!). They put me on standby for a direct flight home and would you believe it...? I actually got home 2 hours ahead of schedule than if I had actually caught my original flight.
Alright... So enough of that for now. There's a woman out there that I'd like to thank very much for sparking up my creativity, my awareness and my spirit. She knows who she is and if she doesn't... Well, I'm not going to tell her!! ;)
For your mindless entertaining link of the day, how about an oldie but a goodie?
Cheerio, folks and until next time, keep on keeping on.
J
