So...
My ex-wife called me the other day. I wish that I'd saved her voicemail because I would have loved to have transcribed it for my blog. It could be a testament to my patience to put up with an obviously unbalanced individual. The gist of it was...
"Hi, Jerry, it's Kristy. You have a bill that needs to be paid off. I've moved out [from my parents'] and am trying to get a phone line set up but I can't because there's an outstanding account that's several hundred dollars. You need to take care of this because I'm sick and tired of having everything from you from back then. I can't afford this right now and you're probably still working. So you need to take care of your stuff. Since I obviously don't have a phone you can leave a message for me at my mom's; 206 938 XXXX."
That's about what I remember of it, anyway. At this point in time, it's only fair to note that all of the utility bills from back then were in my name and credit; not hers. I've decided to ignore her call at this point and continue moving on with my life. I suspect that she set up the phone while she was at "Frankie's" place and that's the bill that is affecting her right now. The burden of proof is on her and I'd like to see a copy of a statement with the service address, services and a comprehensive list of all of the charges; assuming it is actually something that I'm supposed to be responsible for.
Wow. I feel a lot better for having said all of that. Well, folks. I'm going to clock out for the night. Have a good one!
