Damn the French! (Just kidding, frogs...)

I admire their rich history and culture but I'll be darned if I can think of a single redeeming quality, invention or... Actually, I can't think of anything good to come out of France. Until now! This is brought to you by the country that loved and encouraged the slapstick humor of Jerry Lewis and designed/manufactured/brought to market the Citroen, a car remarkable because the marketers got it right the first time by naming the whole company a lemon... Wonder if I can make money by reselling stickers and markers for this market.

Texas Exports Include More Than Questionable Politicians

How about some good, deep-fried goodness from the heart of Texas?

Wireless Technology Strikes Yet Again!

Wow... That's all I can say about this. Except maybe that I feel just a little sorry for the person who has to clean up phone booths out there.

My Horoscope

Initiate a conversation with the person you need to talk to.

Hmm... Okay. Looks like I'm going to be calling people later tonight! I wonder wonder wonder... Who...?

OMG!

I can't believe it!! This is an amazing development in culinary science...

OY VEY!

Talk about weird...

News Update

In my ongoing efforts to document the insane news of the world today, I plan on updating my readers on what's going on out in the world. Now "they" are going too far! Not that I encourage or participate in the heterosexual kinds of behavior indicated...

Na na na na... Na na na na... Hey hey hey... Goodbye...

Our friend, compatriot and companion is leaving Seattle for Virginia. At least, we have high hopes for him in his new location and blah blah blah. It's time for the party announcement because he's not allowed to leave without some kind of farewell bash!

Italy Delivered Five Golden Rules of SMS Cheating
In Italy, text messaging might mean business for divorce lawyers. Apparently, these messages are leading to SMS affairs and consequently, a leading giveaway of secret relationships. An Italian private investigator has issued the "Five Golden Rules" on how to cheat with a cell phone and not get caught. Accordingly, text messengers are urges to use caution when text-cheating. Well Now...

A really good friend of mine (Hi, Andrea!!) told me something once that belongs in the Hall of Fame.

"When you go to sleep, don't sleep naked. That way, you know that you're yourself when you wake up because otherwise you'd be wearing somebody else's underwear."

She is freaking brilliant!!! Of course, this is prompted by some totally wild dreams that I had Friday evening after going out bowling and then to a comedy show with the guys. Anyway, the dream was bizarre enough that I remembered it for the better part of Saturday but it has slowly faded away. All I can say is OMFG, it was a doozy! Well, off to sleep for me for now. Sunday, I will be seeing The Rundown.

Late-Breaking News

Having just watched the California gubernatorial debate on CNN, I must say that I'm most amused!! The circus that is the California Recall is just another chapter in this country's history. I'm hoping that Arnold Schwarzenegger is elected as the Republican candidate for governor of CA. I didn't like any of the other candidates and their platforms but who knows? There's still time as the election isn't until October 7th.

In Today's News

Bubba Ho-Tep was a painful, painful experience. Just because a movie has Bruce Campbell, don't expect that to save it by carrying the whole movie!! Sure the theatre was packed but it was full of "strange" people and the fact that they all laughed at all of the jokes tells me that either (a) they were forcing themselves to laugh, (b) the concession stand foodstuffs were drugged or (c) these people really really need to get laid...

Underworld, however... Comparatively, that movie was totally awesome!! Vampyres versus werewolves.... A classic love story involving a human boy, a vampyre girl and the war waging around between them filmed artistically in muted tones and even some bullet-time effects.

The next good movie I plan on seeing will be The Rundown which comes out this weekend. The buzz is not only positive but it's coming in from everywhere!

So that's about it for now, my fans. I'll post more tonight once I've settled in at my hotel room in beautiful Boise, ID.

Oh yes... One last word of advice. I thought that this movie was a joke, but apparently it's coming soon to a theatre near you!! Beware and be afraid...

No, seriously... This is the last post!!

This is sooo freaking cool!

One Last Post!!

I love Canadians! Oh, and Russian women aren't too bad either...

CRITICAL UPDATE

I know that I've been less in touch than normal and spending less time on my blog than I should have. Mea culpa!! However, I am making an effort to place a post because I know that after tomorrow I'm not going to be able to be online for a couple of days. Tomorrow is a very important day for two reasons. So let's look at my calendar, eh?

Traffic...

We all hate traffic, right? Well, hold on a sec. I've found something that will have you calling your local Department of Transportation and THANKING them for being the thinktank that they are! And all this time I thought that Seattle had a messed up road system! Just remember to thank God that he put those engineers altogether on an island...

Whatever Happened...

To freedom of speech? Today, Donald Rumsfeld has specifically come out and said that by speaking against the policies of President Bush, you are supporting terrorism. WHAT THE HELL??!??!?!??

To Bush's oath to Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States? So far we've seen a decline in personal freedoms, civil liberties and still there's no end in sight, no actual improvement in security and the economy's still in the toilet. (sigh)

So what can we do about it? Well, if you don't like how President Bush is running this country and think he's doing about as well as he did at the companies that he drove into bankruptcy, you should start talking to your local representatives, your senators and your governor! It starts with you!! If you as an individual aren't involved, that's how elections can be "stolen". When less than 50% of us take the time to vote or participate, that eliminates 50% percent of our opinion. 50% of us didn't vote and that just gives a vocal minority more and more power to do as they will!

So get out there... Register to vote... Make your voice heard... If we don't, I don't want anybody complaining that they woke up with a facist regime in control of what was once the greatest, richest, most influential, most positive nation in the history of humanity!!! All I can say is thank God I live so close to Canada. Now to sign off and pack a bag before the G-Men and black helicopters show up...

A Paid Political Announcement

Arnold has turned up the heat in his bid for governor. Since I'm not going to be able to run for governor of California, I'd at least like everybody to consider the possibilities that lie ahead with such a charismatic man at the head of the 4th largest economy in the world... Check out this video!

On A More Positive Note...

You can do it at a trot
You can do it a a gallop
You can do it real slow
So your heart don't palpitate
Just don't be late
Do the Puyallup!

Yep! I did the Puyallup Fair once again! I rode some rides, ate fair food, looked at strange people and blew a ton of money. A good time was to be had by all! So anyway... If you're in the Seattle area between September 5th through to the 21st, get yourself down to Puyallup and experience everything that the Western Washington Fair has to offer...

You Heard It Here First!

Okay... So, President Bush has asked for UN support for Iraq. Yeah, right... The US Armed Forces are more than capable and adequate in terms of numbers to keep peace and help rebuild a country the size of California. But wait a second!! WHY THE HELL is the United States government getting itself involved in Iraq, anyway? We still haven't found Saddam Hussein. We still haven't found weapons of mass destruction. I agree with Anne Applebaum who writes that the decision to go to the UN is a re-election ploy by the current administration. I'll take it a couple of steps further!

Riddle me this... Currently, this administration has been very open on it's stance that this is a war against terrorism. A war against a way of thinking, not any particular religion, government or belief system. A war against people who are (agreeably) insane, angry and given training and tools to become dangerous weapons in a war with no end in sight.

What's to stop Mr. Bush from declaring a state of emergency. Hell... How about staging a terrorist attack, declaring martial law and dissolving civil liberties and the Constitution for as long as necessary?

I hope that these thoughts are completely off base but I've been right before and it's my greatest hope and desire that I'm wrong this time!

WHEEEEEEE!!!

It's 22:50 Pacific Time and do you know where I am?

C'mon... I'll give you three chances!

Nope. I'm not at home.

Nope. Not at a bar (yet!).

Give up? Denny's!!

That's right... It's a Friday evening and I'm having a late dinner at the Megalithic Greasy Spoon. AND I'm on the Internet with my mobile Pocket PC! (How cool is that?!?) After my little adventure in people-watching is completed, I plan on visiting the local watering hole for a brew.

Alright... Food's up! Until next time, people!

Got Broadband?

Okay. To heck with RhymBox! I've opted to use JAJC as my universal chat client of preference. I'm still available at the Instant Messaging clients below. However, not to be left behind in the rush, I've decided to also start using a Voice Over IP solution (VoIP). I'm using X-Lite as my client and Free World Dialup as the service provider. I'll be supporting the G711a, G711u and GSM codecs. If you have broadband, you can use the G711 codecs. If you are a dial-up user, I recommend using the GSM codec which is designed for lower bitrates. So, my NEW contact information is as follows:

AIM: jerrymckinley
FWD: 58865
ICQ: 1035879
MSN: jerry@mckinleys.net
Yahoo!: jmckinl

Alright? Have you got all that?

Instant Messaging (Just Add Internet)

Oh... Before I forget!! I am trying out a new messaging program called RhymBox. The results are mixed at this point in time (limited availability, questionable reliability and other quirks). I'm actually thinking about calling it quits on the unified messaging platform and installing each of the individual clients I need to access the different networks? What are your thoughts? Do you use an all in one solution? Instant message me at any of the following:

AOL: jerrymckinley
ICQ: 1035879
MSN: jerry@mckinleys.net

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

So another week has past. I had a 4 day weekend. To the people who I wasn't able to connect with, I apologize for my inconsiderate and demanding schedule.

Last week... Hmm... Mariners are choking again. However, a lot of people still have high hopes for them to pull something out of the season and at least make it to the playoffs. I'm not holding my breath though.

Friday I had a doctor's appointment. I went in to get my eyes re-examined. The good news is that my prescription hasn't changed a bit in the past several years (-4.25 R / -3.75 L). The even better news is that I'm going to get my eyes zapped and have set an appointment for later this month (September, 2003)! Yay!!

Saturday, I'm not going to talk much about except that I got to hang out and take care of some personal things.

Sunday, a good friend got married to a wonderful woman! It's an amazing quirk of fate how things have worked out for them and I don't have the words or ability to describe the happiness I share for them. They know who they are, hopefully how we all feel about them and that we wish them the best in their coming years...

Monday... Gamed out!!

Tuesday... Is it Tuesday already? Well, close enough! It's back to the old grind tomorrow for me. I'll be taking care of a couple of wonderful ladies for the week. One's a blonde and the other's a brunette. They're very friendly, love attention and are just absolutely cool to hang out with. More to come as the week progresses!!
