Last Horoscope of 2003

12/31/2003 - Don't forget the lessons of your elders. They will come in handy.
Oh yeah... For those of you who don't know, I'm something of a history buff and that just makes sense. Those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. I want to repeat the successes and avoid the usual pitfalls as best as I can; understanding that nobody has complete control of their life or their destiny. However, this isn't the time for me to wax poetic. Happy New Year's, everybody from all of us at McKinley Enterprises.

No, It Wasn't Me

Obviously, there's something funny going on in Lincoln, NE as police slap a web designer with a ticket for public nudity...

Terrorism Report

Apparently, those bastards are now putting us into some kind of time-warp!

Saturday's Horoscope

12/27/2003 - Connect with those who encourage you to dream. Embrace fantasy.
I'm going to take the Fifth Amendment on this one...

YAAAAAAWN!!

Man... I have slept far too much the past week. On the plus side, I can already feel the days getting longer since the Winter Solstice and that makes me feel better.

December 26, 2003

Friday's Horoscope

12/26/2003 - You have much to communicate to friends and family. Keep talking.
Hello! That's exactly what the blog is for. Sometimes I wonder if I talk too much. If I'm being overly open with regard to what's going on in my life with everybody...? Your thoughts and comments at this point in time would be appreciated! Until then, why not check out some Olympic antics?

It All Makes Sense Now

Although, admittedly, I am humbled that the origins of humanity had to be explained to me by an Italian...

December 25, 2003

Terrorism Update

Now the bastards are using the planet Mars (aka "the death planet").

Merry Christmas!

I couldn't think of a better time of year to get your car stolen.

December 24, 2003

In Case of Emergency

It's always good to know that engineers have planned for every contingency. For example, if the Internet goes sideways or ends up being broken some day... There IS an alternate method of moving your data around.

Another Horoscope?

12/24/2003 - No one understands as well as you do. You've got the bases covered.
Yeah... You betcha... I can barely get my ego to fit in the double-doors to get into the office as it is. The last thing I need is my Christmas Eve horoscope rubbing me the right way. Although, SOMETHING rubbing me the right way is certainly more appreciated than being rubbed the wrong way or not being rubbed up against at all.

Or something like that.

December 23, 2003

Ho Ho Holy Crap!!

So it's not enough that I've had the headache from hell today. As it turns out this evening, there's a very good likelihood, a presumtive positive, that Washington state (home of McKinley Enterprises) is home to the first case of BSE (also known as Mad Cow Disease) in the United States.

As a meatatarian, I am shocked and awed by this development. It takes several years before symptoms manifest themselves in cows and in the meanwhile, hamburger meat, hot dogs and meat by-products could now be in the food chain here in the US (and abroad!). HOWEVER, let's not get ourselves all worked up about this until you have had a moment to see what the FDA has to say about it.

In the interim, it looks like it'll be back to sushi, fish, pork and chicken for me. At least those products haven't been shown to have any links with causing a degenerative and fatal neurological disorder.

Today's Horoscope

12/23/2003 - Make a bold move! The universe stands behind you 100%. Go for it.
So I did. I went for it. We'll see if in the next year or two things work out for me and my plans come to fruition as I hope that they do. If not, I will at least live with the satisfaction that I tried and that will have to be enough for this professional bachelor.

Latvians, taking pickling to a whole new level...

Don't try this at home, kiddies.

Women Better Off Left Alone

We report; you decide.

And Another One Bites The Dust

Holy carp!! Yet another week has passed by with nothing too new or interesting to report. Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, I have no horoscopes to report for the past week. That said, I would like to make it abundantly clear that I didn't necessarily delete them on purpose, it just seemed to happen that way...

December 16, 2003

Today's Horoscope

12/15/2003 - People are listening very carefully to everything you have to say.
With a report like this... You'd think that I'm running for President or something! While some may question my methods, everybody should know better than to question my integrity. I stand by my record; "skeletons in the closet" and all!

How 'Bout That?

I may not think very highly of the current President of the United States, however I always have and always will support our troops. Good job, all!

December 14, 2003

Horoscopes

12/14/2003 - Graciously appreciate those who openly and lovingly appreciate you.
It is with a great sense of honor and humility that I reach out to and thank all of you in my life who love, cherish, respect and/or appreciate me.

12/13/2003 - A new romantic phase is beginning - don't let work get in the way.
... Unless you are in love with your work.

12/12/2003 - Reach toward a new goal - something that you are passionate about.
Oh crap... A new goal? Hmm... Well, so far I have: world domination, cure cancer, eliminate hunger and space colonization. Well, how about something a little more strategic, measurable, achieveable, realistic and tangible? Hmm... Somthing to think about and it's as good a time as any to evaluate where I am in my life with respect to any goals that I have set for myself.

12/10/2003 - If you can laugh at yourself, you can begin to heal your wounds.
Hahaha! I must be the healthiest person on the planet!!!

12/08/2003 - The opposition is stronger than you think. Proceed with great care.
Yep. Those bastards! First they try to hold me back. Now they're consolidating their efforts. Well, I happen to have a couple of tried-and-true strategies to take care of the opposition...

12/07/2003 - Address difficult issues now - before they get the better of you.
Difficult issues... Difficult issues... What issues? They must be talking about somebody else!

12/06/2003 - This is a great time for love relationships but a bad time for work.
I'd have to say that IN GENERAL, this is true. It's winter which means it's cold, rainy and miserable outside and that's good for relationships (and also explains why so many children are conceived in December). At work, things have slowed down so for some people it IS a bad time. The good news is that spring is just around the corner and business will really pick up. Until then, I plan on going skiing!!

12/05/2003 - Someone who knows exactly what to say enlivens your senses.
To that special someone, thank you very much for your support and care! Pain and suffering can be construed as good because they remind us that to feel this bad we had to have felt good before and it's a great reminder that we're all still alive...

Women Woes

Hmm... Over 28 million single women over 35 and only 18 million single men in that same age bracket? I like those odds!

December 6, 2003

Yeehaw!

Power was restored late last night at McKinley Enterprises Global HQ. The WebCam is now back online. Computers and systems were brought back online in a tiered approach so as to not tax the recovering electrical infrastructure. As of 12:00 PST today, all systems are nominal and backup power to key systems are fully recharged.

Winter Storm 2003 Update!

From Puget Sound Energy:
This is an outage report update as of 4:05pm on Friday, December 5th.

High winds in King and north Pierce county on Thursday caused severe storm damage and power outages for over 180,000 customers. As of midday today, we have approximately 70,000 customers out of power. Due to hazardous road conditions caused by yesterday's wind storms, it may not be possible to post estimated restoration information for all outages.

Additional crews will be arriving from as far away as Kansas and California to help speed up restoration efforts. By noon today, we expect to have a full complement of 100 crews in the field. Because of the extensive damage to the power system, crews will be working throughout the weekend to get all outages completely restored. As assessments are made and restoration information becomes available, we will update this message.

The heaviest damaged areas include: Auburn, Burien, Des Moines, Kent, Federal Way, Renton, Edgewood, Buckley, Carnation, Redmond, Issaquah, North Bend, Fall City, Snoqualmie, Bellevue, Woodinville, Kirkland, Sammammish, Maple Valley, Enumclaw and Duvall.

Thank you very much for your patience.

AAAAAAAAAAAUGH!!! No go-juice for me and my gadgets. Looks like I'm going to be spending a minimal amount of time online for a couple of days. Cheerio, folks! :-)

Winter Storm 2003!

Yesterday, we lost power at the McKinley Enterprises global HQ. Winds were clocked as fast as 90+ miles an hour. Trees were down everywhere and roads were a mess. Currently, Puget Sound Energy has drawn people from as far away as Canada to restore power, however due to the fact that it's been out for over 24 hours and the large area covered (over 115,000 customers without power!)... They are saying that it may take 3-4 days before power is fully restored to everybody.

The Horoscope of the Day

Someone else's energy is holding you back. You need to break free.
Who's trying to hold me back? No, seriously... Does somebody think that they can do this and get away with it?

December 2, 2003

Today's Horoscope

12/02/2003 - Morning conversation gives you ideas on how to get out of your rut.
Am I in a rut? Or am I a nut?
What does it mean? I'm trying to come clean.
Somebody help me out; what's this all about?
Whats the solution to my mental pollution?

Goin' Fishin'

If you're asked to go fishing by your old buddy in Cambodia, you may want to reconsider...

And In Other News

There's been an outbreak in New Zealand of political correctness. Something needs to be done about it post haste!

'Tis The Season

Only the British would need to come up with something as catchy as this...

Horrorscopes

12/01/2003 - Have faith that things will work out for the best. Let go of control.
Too late. I think this information caught up with me a long time ago. However, it's still good advice!

11/30/2003 - Don't pretend that you are not emotionally affected by today's events.
This blog has no idea what this is referring to. Unless, it was the absolutely horrid traffic that I was caught up in for SEVERAL HOURS on my way home from Oregon!! #@(&!!!!

11/29/2003 - Give people a second chance. Don't write them off prematurely.
Absolutely! However, don't expect me to give those people the same level of access/security that they once had previously. I shall always forgive but forgetting will be harder depending on how bitter a taste they left the first time around.
