What I Learned Yesterday
Yesterday was an interesting day. Beyond just the normal strange dreams I've been having at night and sense of deja vu regarding everything in my life, it was interesting!
Work was busy... Very busy. Somehow, I managed to sneak out a couple of hours early at 4:30 in the afternoon to meet up with somebody for a happy hour date. She was cuter than I thought but she was also (just like she had told me) very shy and quiet. An hour and a half later, the pressure was off as I left the bar and headed into Baltimore to go home.
After I got home, I sat down but since I'd already been out I didn't want to just vegetate and home so I got back up and headed out to a local watering hole. There, I met somebody who lives just around the corner from me and we had a great conversation throughout the night.
So what did I learn?
- I learned that not having a plan can sometimes be more effective than having a set (inflexible) plan in place.
- I learned that God/life/the universe does have a plan for everybody that usually includes some amount of happiness.
- I learned that not everybody appreciates an ability to be more perceptive than average people. (HINT: Even if you have a REALLY good guess as to somebody's age, aim lower.)
- Psychics (if they exist) are rarely welcome in the lives of ordinary people.
- Whatever you think you can do, you can not become one with the universe... Most likely, you'll end up becoming one with your own sexual organs (Warren Beatty) or worse, you might just become one with your local area.
